The George C. Marshall High School Girls Lacrosse Team will be hosting their first Chili Cook-Off on Friday, April 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. to raise funds.

Longfellow Middle School’s Science Bowl team won every match and took first place in the Virginia Regional Science Bowl Competition on March 6. Marshall Lacrosse Hosts Chili Cook-Off

The George C. Marshall High School Girls Lacrosse Team will be hosting their first Chili Cook-Off on Friday, April 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. to raise funds.

Those interested in attending the cook-off and tasting all the chili pay $7 which includes unlimited chili samples and sides (cookies, cakes, pasta salad, etc.). Cook entry forms are due by Tuesday, April 13.

FCHS Student Receives Science Award

Falls Church High School (FCHS) sophomore Maggie Cullather was recognized with the Outstanding Student Award by the U.S. Public Health Service at the 25th Annual Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.
Cullather received the award for her study of nearly 300 musicians to see if playing a wind instrument has an effect on lung capacity. The State Science & Engineering Fair was held on April 3 at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

Local Student Awarded National Scholarship

Falls Church resident Catherine S. Archer of St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School has won a National Achievement $2,500 scholarship, after qualifying last September as one of 1,600 semifinalists who earned top scores on their PSAT.

Registration Remains Open for Annual Jaguar Run

Falls Church High School (FCHS) (7521 Jaguar Trail, Falls Church) will host its 5th Annual Jaguar 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, April 24.

The kid’s fun run (for kids 13 and under) will begin at 8 a.m. and will cost $10. The 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will cost $25. Every participant will receive a T-shirt. For more information and to register, visit www.jaguar5k.com.

Last Day to Order Mulch Nears at Stuart High

The last day to order mulch to support the J.E.B. Stuart All Night Grad Party is Monday, April 12. A 3-cubic-foot bag of double shredded hardwood mulch is $4.50 and must be ordered and pre-paid before the cut-off on April 12.

Pick-up and delivery begins Saturday, April 17. Free driveway delivery is available to those who wish to purchase 30 – 100 bags.
