Jody’s Jam of the Week: Spring Sports Leagues

With Spring comes a new season of competition, as sports leagues around the D.C. area get ready to start anew. There’s practically a league for everyone- whether you prefer traditional sports like flag football or softball, or if you want to relive your playground days with dodgeball or kickball, or maybe the bar is your arena of choice. Whatever it is, it’s out there.

For the jocks, Fairfax Athletics (farifaxathletics.com) has open registration for leagues in flag football, soccer, softball, dodgeball and kickball. In addition, the World Adult Kickball Association (kickball.com) has a slew of teams in the D.C. & Northern Virginia area, including a Falls Church-based division.

Prefer a little booze with your games? Check out the United Skeeball Assocation (unitedskeeball.com) where you can play the boardwark staple, league-style, in neighborhood bars in Arlington and D.C. Also for the pub crowd is D.C.’s Rock & Roll Hotel newly forming Ping Pong league (rockandrollpingpong.com) on Monday nights.

For other leagues in and around Falls Church, Fairfax and the entire Northern Virginia area, check out Fairfax County’s organized sports directory here.
