Evans Defeats Rucker in Mason District School Board Special Election

Filler-Corn Edges Out Bolognese for 41st District House Seat

Sandy Evans has defeated Samantha Rucker in Tuesday’s Mason District School Board special election race. With 29 of 29 precincts reporting, Evans has received 56.38% (2,683) of the vote to Rucker’s 43.48% (2,069) according to unofficial results on the Virginia State Board of Elections web site.

The special election was to fill the Mason District School Board Seat seat vacated by Kaye Kory who resigned in January after being elected to Virginia’s House of Delegates.

In another special election, Eileen Filler-Corn, a Democrat, defeated Republican Kerry D. Bolognese by 37 votes to fill the vacated seat in the 41st Assembly District of Virginia tonight.
