Lady Mustangs Crush Central Woodstock in Regional Quarterfinal

dsc_0074It was another historic night for George Mason High’s girls varsity basketball team, as they beat Central Woodstock High, 78-44, in the quarterfinal game of the Region B tournament.

The night also marked a personal milestone for the Lady Mustang’s powerhouse senior guard, Nicole Mitchell, who tallied her 1,000th career point Wednesday evening.

It was another historic night for George Mason High’s girls varsity basketball team, as they beat Central Woodstock High, 78-44, in the quarterfinal game of the Region B tournament.

The night also marked a personal milestone for the Lady Mustang’s powerhouse senior guard, Nicole Mitchell, who tallied her 1,000th career point Wednesday evening.

With the victory, first-seed Mason advances to the semifinal game versus fourth-seed Strasburg, after the Strasburg Rams defeated Chatham High 49-26 Wednesday. Mason won its regular season game against Strasburg, 71-58, earlier in February.

The Lady Mustangs take on the Rams at 6:30 p.m. this Friday, Feb. 26, at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va.
