George Mason High & Pie-Tanza Team Up for Haiti Fundraiser Tuesday

Falls Church area residents will get another chance to grab a slice and help out with Haiti relief when the Italian eatery Pie-Tanza holds an all-day fundraiser this Tuesday, Feb. 2, for the George Mason High School Haiti Relief Fund. Twenty percent of all sales will go toward the fund.

Falls Church City Public Schools Communications Director Karen Acar says the school is arranging for Mason Principal Ty Byrd and other Mason faculty to be “on staff” at the Falls Church restaurant during the afternoon or evening. The school is awaiting confirmation, said Acar.

Last Thursday, Byrd appeared at another Mason fundraiser held at Flippin’ Pizza just down the road. The event raised a reported $1,190.

Mason is also hosting a fundraiser on Wednesday, Jan. 3, during the annual student-faculty basketball game, to be held at 7 p.m. in the Mason Pit gymnasium. Tickets are $3, and all proceeds will go to benefit the Haiti Relief Fund. George Mason High School is located at 7124 Leesburg Pike.

Pie-Tanza is located at 1216 W. Broad St in Falls Church.
