F.C.’s Snyder Takes Lead of D.C. Region Transportation Planning Board

City of Falls Church Councilman David Snyder covened his first meeting as the new chair of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board for 2010 tonight in Washington, D.C. calling on elected officials and planners to “build on recent regional transportation initiatives,” adding, “As the nation’s capital, we can and should be a model for transportation in this country.”

He noted that “states and the federal government are increasingly looking for metropolitan regions to lead new transportation efforts.” Snyder has served on the Falls Church City Council since 1994, including one term as mayor and one as vice-mayor.
