TJ Boys Hoops Defeat Marshall, 48-42

The Thomas Jefferson High School boys varsity basketball won their first Liberty District game, beating second-place George C. Marshall, 48-42, last Friday.

The Thomas Jefferson Colonials led from start to finish, opening up the scoring with three-pointers by sophomore Richard Kuzma and senior Nick Perez. Strong rebounding, shot blocking and inside scoring by Daniel Barnes and Aaron Williams secured the victory.

The Colonials’ top scorer was Kuzma with 13 points, while also contributing to TJ’s win were Perez with nine points, juniors Williams, nine, Barnes, eight, Steven Jackson, five, Peter Hansen, two and sophomore Kevin Karn with two.
