Argia’s, the independently owned Italian restaurant in Falls Church, has leased and renovated the space formerly occupied by Fringes Hair Salon. The new dining room substantially increases the restaurant’s dining capacity and it can be used to accommodate private parties and events.

A new organization, NOVA SR Alliance, has been formed in the Falls Church community to provide a wide range of services most needed by seniors. Alliance members represent home care providers, long term care providers, estate attorneys, financial advisers, physical therapy specialists, reverse mortgage providers, real estate services, and advisers on downsizing, organizing for a move, and locating senior living situations.  In addition to the direct services each member provides, the Alliance also provides referrals and educational resources about senior issues to service organizations and senior-focused groups.  For more information about the SR Alliance contact Ted Kramer, 703-304-1140 or ted@tedkramer.com.


The Falls Church dental practice of Dr. William V. Dougherty III received a Green award from the Department of Environmental Quality acknowledging their achievement of the Environmental Enterprise Level within the Virginia Environmental Excellence Program. The award recognizes offices that use proactive environmental management, compliance, and continuous improvement in environmental performance. Hygienist Katie Rohr is the executor of the Green program who is responsible for leading the team efforts which have included securing an ISO certified amalgam separator to remove over 95% of amalgam from waste water, adopting energy efficient management systems, conducting a recycling program, taking digital radiographs, and using environmentally friendly office products. Events

The Falls Church City Economic Development Authority is hosting “East Falls Church Metro and Transit Oriented Development” from 6:30-8pm, Tuesday, November 3, in the City Hall Training Room (Ground Level, East Wing).  Richard Tucker, senior planner for the Arlington County Planning and Zoning Office, will present an update on the Planning and Transportation Study that will shape the vision for transit oriented development in the East Falls Church area.
