Mason Football Loses to Central-Woodstock High

The Mason varsity football team fell 20-7 on Friday, Oct. 2, to Central-Woodstock High. They will face Freedom-South Riding High this Friday, Oct. 9 in a home game at 7:30 p.m.

Mason XC Teams Place High At Octoberfest Invitational

The Mason cross country teams headed to Great Meadows, Va. to participate in the Octoberfest Invitational on Oct. 3.

Junior Matt Baker led the Mason pack with a time of 18:01. Miles Butler ran close behind in 18:07, and Jordan Robarge in 18:13. Dane Warner clocked in at 18:26. Sam Parker made it in 18:50, with Will Ketchum rounding out the varsity team in 19:13. In the varsity B race, freshman Jeremy K. Brown led the team with 18:37.

The girls Varsity A cross country team came in eighth out of 46 teams in all. Medal winner Eva Estrada led the ladies with a time of 19:18. She placed 17th overall. Mollie Breen and Hannah Beaman clocked in at 20:31 and 20:33, respectively. Runners Abby Perez, Michele De Mars, Claire Constance and Leah Roth also participated in the Varsity A race.

The Varsity B team came in second overall, with medal winner Julia Estrada, who placed in 14th with a time of 21:19. Karen Hamill and Emma Viellescazes followed Estrada in with times of 22:05 and 22:09, respectively. Fellow Varsity B runners were Phoebe Galt, Courtney Ready, Hailey Thomas and Kelly Ready.

Mason Volleyball Ends With Even Record for the Week

The Mason girls varsity volleyball team lost 3-0 to Madison County on Oct. 1. But the team came back on Tuesday, Oct. 6, to win 3-0 over Manassas Park High. The girls face Rappahannock County High today, Oct. 8, in an away match at 7:15 p.m.
