Doodlehopper 4 Kids has opened Doodlehopper Too just two doors down from its original Falls Church store on the corner of W. Broad and N. Maple. Doodlehopper 4 Kids, still at 228 W. Broad Street, is now for children ages newborn to 3 years. Doodlehopper Too, at 234 W. Broad Street, is for children from 4 to10 years old and it includes a large book department.

The expansion provides more room for merchandise, events, live entertainment, parties, crafts, game nights, story times and play. While both stores are open, the grand opening will be held August 15 and 16. The community is invited to attend for free gifts and balloons, games, entertainment, drawings and face paintings. During the second quarter of 2009, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority provided services and resources to 34 businesses that will create 788 jobs in Fairfax County. Most of the companies firms in the information technology and professional services sectors. Among the businesses adding the most new jobs are Inova Health System, VSE Corporation and The Tauri Group. Time magazine called Fairfax County “one of the great economic success stories of our time.” The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. Business owners filing Virginia taxes will be pleased to learn of “Live Chat”, a new service from the Virginia Department of Taxation that lets taxpayers communicate online in real time with the department’s Tax representatives. All business or individual taxpayers can connect with a rep by clicking on the Live Chat logo the agency’s Web site. Taxpayers can ask general or specific questions about their accounts. Live Chat is available from 7 am – 9 pm week days and from 8 am – 1 pm on Saturdays. Dogfish Head Alehouse is hosting a capital campaign fundraiser for ArtSpace Falls Church all day long on Tuesday, August 18. Fifteen percent of sales that day will be donated to the flexible art space being built by Creative Cauldron and Falls Church Arts at 410 S. Maple Avenue in Falls Church. Live music, raffles, prizes and T-shirts will be available. The restaurant is located at 6220 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church (Seven Corners Center).
