The girls 10-and-under basketball team Falls Church Thunder bested their competition to snag first place in the Fairfax Stars Summer League Championship last week. 
The girls 10-and-under basketball team Falls Church Thunder bested their competition to snag first place in the Fairfax Stars Summer League Championship last week.
The team finished their regular season strong with 12 wins to one loss. The 2009 championship’s runner-up was opponent McLean II.
Coaches Andre Barlow and Dutch Hudson managed the successful season.
The 2009 Falls Church Thunder team included Adowa Ankuma, Brooke Barlow, Vanessa Barlow, Nicole Bloomgarden, Nhari Djan, Shaun Rodick, Samantha Gerber, Kaylyn Truesdale, Tiya Anderson, Leah Hudson, Olviia Mooney, Margaret Lister and Lily Saunders.
