The Fairfax Stars U11 Boys Gold team took 10th place at the 2009 11-and-under Boys AAU Division II National Championship tournament played in Cocoa Beach, Fla., held from July 26 – Aug. 1. The team’s spring/summer season record was 39-20, winning four tournament championships, including the Potomac Valley AAU Division II Regional Championships, and three runner-up tournament finishes. Pictured here are (back row, left to right) Assistant Coach Randall Gaskins, Justin Ayanian, Preston Whitman, Brett Wellde, Edward Pinto, Coach John Ayanian; (front row) Sammy Coolidge, Elliot Mercado, Randall Gaskins, Jeremiah Brooks, DeMarcus Ramsey, Grant Robinson. Ayanian, Coolidge, Mercado and Robinson played together on the 2008-09 FCYBL Falls Church 10U Select Team.
