Falls Church Arts is offering businesses a chance to participate in Gallery Without Walls.

The mission of Falls Church Arts is to ensure that the arts are an essential part of the cultural environment of the city of Falls Church. Through the Gallery Without Walls program, businesses can display art from local artists in their place of business free of charge! Falls Church businesses are signing on to support the Falls Church Education Foundation‘s 5th Annual Celebration and Auction on Fri, April 17 at The Westin Arlington Gateway. The event, a tribute to the 60th Anniversary of the Falls Church City Public Schools, will benefit the foundation’s programs and operations which provide supplemental support to the Falls Church City Public Schools. To date, the following companies are supporting the event: Acacia Federal Savings Bank, Akridge Real Estate Services, Clark Construction, Cox Communications, Diener & Associates, Federal Brick & Stone, Greenscape, LaFave & Associates, Pal-Tech, JBG Companies, McLean Asset Management, Needham, Mitnick & Pollack, Northern Virginia Tutoring Service, and Original Pancake House. Sponsorships range from $10,000 – $200 and individual tickets are priced at $100/person or $190 per couple. Curves of Falls Church will be participating in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food pantries through March. Over the past five years, nearly 50 million pounds of food were distributed to local communities all over the world through the Curves Food Drive. Locally, Curves of Falls Church collected nearly 1300 pounds of food in 2008. Curves is also giving back to the community by waiving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between March 9 and March 28. Others wishing to donate may drop off non-perishable food items at Curves located at 240 West Broad Street, Monday through Friday during business hours through the entire month of March. Dr. Raymond Solano of Falls Church-based Solano Spine & Sport Chiropractic has been selected to serve on the sports medical team for the 2009 AVP Crocs Tour Panama City Beach Open from March 27-29. 160 athletes on 80 teams will compete including some of the best beach volleyball players in the world, including 2008 Olympic Gold Medalists, Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers. Mary Anne Carlson is hosting an Arbonne Product Showcase on Fri, Feb 27 from 7 – 9 p.m. to provide the opportunity to sample products for women, men and children and to learn more about what makes them different from others on the market. North Shore Design, a Falls Church-based residential design/build firm, will hold an open house for its newly completed custom home in Great Falls on Sat, March 28 noon till 4 p.m. The Arts and Crafts style home, located at 9803 Georgetown Pike, has a number of special features including cultured stone and fiber cement siding throughout, stained glass windows, cherry cabinetry, and oak hardwood and slate tile floors. Open house guests will also have the opportunity to win autographed Redskins memorabilia from Pro Bowl Lineman Joe Jacoby. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
