Connolly Cites 29 Endorsements by Officials

Fairfax County Board Chair Gerry Connolly, seeking the Democratic nomination for Congress in the 11th District seat being vacated this year by Rep. Tom Davis, issued a list of endorsements by 29 area elected officials yesterday.

The list included Fairfax County Board colleagues Penny Gross, Linda Smyth, Sharon Bullova, Gerry Hyland, Jeff McKay, Cathy Hudgins and Dana Kauffman, along with Fairfax School Board members Ilryong Moon, Tina Hone, Phil Niedziekski and Brad Center. Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, Arlington County Board members Walter Tejada and Jay Fisette, and County Clerk of the Court Paul Ferguson were also on the list. In the June 10 primary, Connolly, running for Congress for the first time, is matched against former U.S. Rep Leslie Byrne, as well as Doug Denneny and Lori Alexander.
