Jody’s Jam of The Week

I Love Bacon Cooking Class, December 15, Noon – 3 p.m., TasteDC.com Headquarters

Warning: this Jam is not for the faint of heart, better yet, the clogged of arteries, as just reading this might induce some chest paints. Next Saturday (yup, you’ve got time to get your prescription for Lipitor refilled), TasteDC.com is hosting an I Love Bacon cooking class at their headquarters in D.C. Yup, Bacon, it’s not just for breakfast anymore. Executive Chef Brian Boots, Florida’s 2001 Iron Chef, will be heading up the class and will demonstrate how to whip up some mouth watering, and cholesterol raising, bacon dishes including bacon wrapped chicken livers, confit of duck breast and bacon cassoulet, chipotle lime bacon wrapped shrimp, and my personal favorite, apple, blue cheese and bacon cheesecake. Mmmmm. The class also includes lunch and a selection of beer and wine.
