The City of Falls Church is accepting applications for Community Development Block Grant funding through noon Friday, September 21. Funding is available for for-profit organizations, nonprofits, and public agencies to support public services, housing rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance, and economic development activities for low and moderate income households. Funded projects in the past have included home repair, rental assistance, housing development, recreation activities for disabled adults, legal counsel for families facing eviction or homelessness, first time homebuyer programs, family literacy programs and home buyer education classes. The Falls Church, VA chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is hosting a business and entrepreneurship fair entitled, Dollars and Sense: Planting Seeds for Entrepreneurship, Success, and Prosperity on Saturday, September 22 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Falls Church Community Center.
