Arlington County Fair, August 15-19, Thomas Jefferson Community Center

If the air smells a little sweeter this weekend, thank the Arlington County Fair running today through Sunday at Thomas Jefferson Community Center. One whiff of the cotton candy and funnel cake aromas wafting through the breeze should be enough to bring in the crowds, nose-up to Arlington’s largest annual multi-day event. In addition to the eats, they’ve thrown a petting zoo, some pony rides and a bunch of famous racing pigs into the mix— so don’t worry about O.D.ing on sweet smells. The fair features vendor displays and exhibits both inside and out, over 200 in all, ranging from local and national businesses and government groups to fair rides and games. There’s plenty for both kids and adults with music, K-9 demonstrations, a rock climbing wall and much more.
