Fairfax Police Seek Help in Nabbing Abductor

Fairfax County Crime Solvers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for abducting and attempting to rob a 35-year-old Sterling woman.

The woman was working at the Taco Bell at the corner of Lee Highway and Gallows Road in Merrifield on Wednesday, July 11, when at 1:30 p.m. a man wearing a business suit entered and identified himself to her as a health inspector. He was led around the restaurant as he took notes and commented on food storage conditions. Inside the employee’s office with her, he shut and locked the door. When the victim attempted to leave, she was ordered to sit on the floor. The suspect implied a gun and demanded money, but there was no cash in the office. He then fled the restaurant on foot. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as white and about 35 years old with blond hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a dark green suit, white shirt and blue necktie, carrying a briefcase and bag. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477. A reward from $100 to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest is offered. Callers do not have to give their names or appear in court.
