Jody’s Jam of the Week

Bastille Day at the French Embassy, July 7, 7 pm – 11:30 pm

Fresh off of celebrating America’s Independence, why not keep with the theme and party it up for the French version this weekend? Even though Bastille Day isn’t until July 14, the Official Bastille Day Celebration is happening this Saturday at the French Embassy. Organized by Le Comité Tricolore, the celebration will feature an extensive menu of French food and wine, including an evening demonstration by l’Académie de Cuisine, the region’s premiere French culinary school, with chefs from the area’s best kitchens. The first half of the night will feature live French and American music from the Michel Nastase Band, while in the second half, the Champs Elysées Nightclub will open under the la grande tente pumping out Parisan-style retro, swing and top 40 jams. A raffle and silent auction will also be taking place, so be sure to bring some loot. Cocktail attire is suggested, with an emphasis on “summer festive.”
