MEH Middle School Presents ‘Annie Jr.’

Leapin’ Lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best loved musicals. “Annie Jr.” tells of a spunky Depression-Era orphan determined to find the parents who abandoned her. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. on April 13 and 14 at the Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School Cafeteria. Admission is $4 for children and $6 for adults.  Second Annual Jaguar Run/Walk

Falls Church High School is hosting its second annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run for children 13 and under on May 5. All proceeds from the run will go to support FCHS athletics. Kids walk will begin at 8 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 8:30, rain or shine. Registration packets can be picked up at the FCHS Main Gym Lobby, entrance 8, on May 4 5:30-7:30 p.m. and May 5 from 6:30 – 8 a.m. Registration fees are $10 for the 1 Mile Fun Run for kids, $15 for participants 14 and older if registered on or before April 13, and $25 thereafter. All participants will receive a free t-shirt. Questions can be directed to jaguar5k@cox.net. Teams should have at least 3 runners and register individually, noting the team name on the form. No co-ed teams are allowed.

Timber Lane Kindergarten Orientation and Registration

Children who will be 5 years old before September 30, 2007 and their parents are invited to Timber Lane Elementary to meet the kindergarten teachers and visit the school on Monday, May 7 at 2 p.m. in the Timber Lane cafeteria. Parents wishing to register their child must bring a certified copy of their birth certificate, proof of address (a lease or deed), forms from the child’s physical exam, current immunization record, the school registration form, and a home language survey. Amadeus Orchestra to play ‘Side by Side’ with Haycock Students

The professional musicians of the Amadeus Orchestra will perform together with the students of Haycock Elementary on April 19 for the entire student body. The orchestra will also be playing at the Saint Luke Church (7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean) on April 22. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students. Under 18 patrons are free. Haycock and Cosi Team Up for Tech

 On March 29, Haycock Elementary School and the Falls Church Cosi Restaurant (513 W. Broad St., Falls Church) formed a business partnership to build community relations through the sharing of resources in order to provide learning opportunities for students through supporting Haycock’s technology fund.
