NCAA Sweet 16 and Elite 8, March 22 -25, Broad Street Tavern, Falls Church

Last week, I recommended St. Patrick’s Day over the NCAA games on Saturday, and wouldn’t you know it, some of the most exciting games of the tournament so far happened that day. While you most likely had fun lapping up green beer and jigging away to Irish tunes, you missed three overtime games and three more settled by five points or less. This time, I’m not taking any chances. I’m recommending a full four-day NCAA splurge. Starting tonight and continuing on Friday, make sure you catch the Sweet Sixteen match ups including Georgetown’s meeting with Vanderbilt on Friday at 7:27 p.m. Then, find a couch or a bar stool this weekend for the Elite Eight games which will tide you over until the Final Four next Saturday. Local spot Broad Street Tavern has a beer bucket special Saturday and Sunday, so in keeping with the hoops theme, I highly recommend stopping by.
