Water-Skiing Santa & much more! Sunday, December 24 at 1 pm.
This ain’t your regular old Santa. You won’t find this guy parked in a chair at the mall or ringing a bell outside of Giant. No, this jolly ol’ Saint Nick will be tearing up the Potomac on a pair of water skis Christmas Eve afternoon. But wait, there’s so much more. In addition to aqua-Santa, he’ll be joined by his kneeboarding reindeer, some flying elves, a jet-skiing Grinch, Frosty the Snowman in a dinghy and a bunch of caroling Candy Cane Kids. This is the 21st Anniversary of this crazy, eclectic water-themed D.C. event and it’ll be happening rain, snow or shine. The best viewing is from Lady Bird Johnson Park on the GW Parkway in Virginia, while there is free parking at the Columbia Island marina. Everyone including Mrs. Claus will be on hand before and after the show for meets, greets and photos.
