THE CHIEF RETIRES

A RECEPTION TO HONOR retiring City of Falls Church Police Chief Robert T. Murray was held at the F.C. Community Center yesterday, and among the many local law enforcement and City Hall well-wishers on hand to commend his 12 and a half years as F.C.’s chief were members of his family, shown here. As Chief Murray looks on from the right, he sees (left to right) son Michael Murray, a volunteer firefighter in Tampa, Florida, who flew up for the event; daughter-in-law Katherine and her husband, Robert Murray Jr., Chief Murray’s other son, a private first class for the Fairfax County Police Department. Also, there are Robert Murray II and Kenneth Murray, Chief Murray’s grandsons, sons of Katherine and Robert Jr. (News-Press photo)
