Art for Life, Benefit for Whitman-Walker Clinic Latino Services, Friday, Nov. 17, the OAS Building, 17th and Constitution, Washington, D.C.

This is an auction of an amazing exhibit of paintings and photographs carefully selected from among the absolute cream of the crop of regional talent. The gala event begins with a reception, exhibit and silent auction at 6 p.m. and proceeds to a live auction at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the famous clinic’s work by ensuring access to all its services are available to Latino community. This includes not only bilingual access to all programs, outreach, education, HIV and STD testing, risk reduction counseling and prevention activities, but a van dedicated solely to routine mobile outreach and services in the Latino community. Tickets for Friday’s auction are available at $75 from the www.wwc.org. The art is stunning even if you don’t intend to pick anything up, including one amazing photograph by Falls Church’s own Shaun van Steyn.
