F.C.’s Relay for Life a Success

ALMOST $82,000 WAS RAISED in the fight for a cure for cancer in Falls Church last Saturday night, as over 400 participants showed up for a local, all-night Relay for Life event at George Mason High School. The event was launched with a moving ceremony at 6 p.m. and participants, who pitched tents on the infield of the football field, worked in team relays to walk the track throughout the night until dawn. The funds go to the American Cancer Society. Organizers of this first such event in Falls Church promised to do even better next year. Read more for more photos. (Gary Mester photo)
