Red Wings v. Bulls — One team arrived at the field June 1st undefeated and the other showed up undermanned. But for three innings it wasn’t clear which team was which as the Bulls, minus three key players, took everything the unbeaten Red Wings could throw at them and delivered some devastating blows of their own. In the second inning, the Bulls tagged out two Red Wings as they slid into home. In the third inning, the Bulls’ David “Big Papi” Miller retired three Red Wings at first base. Red Wings shortstop Connor Freeman then returned the favor with an unassisted double play, as the third inning ended with the Red Wings ahead 5-3. It was then that the Red Wings’ bats came alive, delivering five runs in the fourth, a feat that the Bulls were unable to match. At the end of tough game, the Red Wings escaped, battered but still undefeated, with the 10-3 win.
