At KPMG’s “Reading Relay” kickoff event on Friday, KPMG Chairman and CEO John Veihmeyer and wife, Beth, read to kindergarten students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church. The nationwide Reading Relay is being conducted to commemorate the fifth anniversary of KPMG’s Family for Literacy program. More than 260 students participated in the event, and each student took home five books; given that 75 percent of these students are on the free-lunch program, this may be the first time many of them have the chance to own their very own book.
