Last night I was sworn into office for my second term, along with my deputies and attorneys. It was a lovely opportunity to thank my staff for all the work they’ve done for social justice, and to the community for carrying me through two primary and two general elections. As I said, you’ve supported me more than I deserve and more than I have any right to expect. It was also a call to action, because I cannot keep my promises to you without the support of the County Board. Without increased funding dedicated to the priorities you supported and the community voted for, we can’t accomplish the goals we’ve set.
Thankfully, we have another simple opportunity to advocate. The County Manager has put out a survey seeking input on funding priorities for the next fiscal year. I would so appreciate you taking the 5 minutes to complete this survey and select “Funding the priorities of the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office” as one of your Top 5 budget priorities. You can include this preference under “Other”. And of course include your other priorities as well!
Thank you again for attending and supporting our entire office. We look forward to continuing to serve you and all of the citizens of Arlington County and Falls Church.
With gratitude,
Parisa Dehghani-Tafti
