Charlottesville, VA – Three architectural projects are being recognized in the 2023 Virginia School Boards Association’s Exhibition of School Architecture. Winning projects were selected from 10 entries submitted by six architectural firms in the areas of new construction, renovation, and adaptive use of existing space. The following designs and firms will be recognized at the opening general session of the VSBA Annual Convention being held in Williamsburg, VA from November 15-17, 2023. First Citizens Bank sponsored this year’s competition.

DIVISION: Falls Church City Public Schools
Meridian High School’s vertical high school design offers flexible floorplans providing security, efficiency, and adaptability to support programs and educational needs as they evolve. The academic setting, with visual transparency and natural daylighting, encourages creative thought, community building, and individual growth. All aspects of the design, from the space planning to the furniture, reinforce the client’s goals of community and collaboration.
