On Tuesday, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) stopped by Eden Center to encourage voting ahead of the November 7 election, discussing multiple issues his administration has focused on, including parental influence in public education (such as removing mask requirements in schools and, according to his administration’s draft recommendations, requiring school administration to “out” LGBTQ+ students to their parents) and banning abortion after 15 weeks (which he falsely claimed is when a fetus can feel pain). The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology says “science conclusively establishes that a human fetus does not have the capacity to experience pain until after at least 24–25 weeks.” He also touted upcoming state tax refunds.
