Repairs have been completed on the Wilson Boulevard bridge above Route 50 in Seven Corners and the $3.8 million project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget, the Virginia Department of Transportation announced Friday.

The project, which rehabilitated the one-way bridge linking the Route 50 eastbound service road to Wilson Boulevard, installed a new concrete bridge deck and steel beams, reconstructed the bridge’s existing sidewalk and added a new sidewalk along the opposite side of the bridge, upgraded the bridge railings and added pedestrian fencing and improved the curb and gutter.

According to VDOT, Wilson Boulevard averages 7,500 vehicles a day and Route 50 averages 51,000.
