Detectives Need Help in Identifying Attempted Robbery Suspect

A man entered the Capitol One Bank at 3499 Jefferson St.  attempting to rob the bank just before 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

Upon entering the bank, the suspect approached a teller and passed a note announcing the robbery and implied he had a weapon. The man became anxious and left the building before obtaining any money. No one was injured. The suspect is described as 6-foot-tall black male in his 20s who wore a black head covering, a black and orange floral pattern skirt, a green jacket and gloves.

Fairfax County Police officers arrived on the scene within minutes of the call and searched the area along with K9 and Fairfax 1. Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Bureau are still investigating the attempted robbery.
