Northern Virginia Community College’s (NOVA) Annandale Campus will host a Success through Early Preparation Session (STEP) session, a new student information event, 6 – 8 p.m on Monday, June 12 in the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center located at the Annandale Campus (8333 Little River Turnpike, Annandale).
STEP is an information session organized specifically for adult learners 25 years of age and older and is a part of NOVA’s many initiatives to welcome adult learners to its campuses and prepare them for the upcoming academic year. During STEP, students will receive assistance with declaring a major and choosing and scheduling classes. They’ll also receive advice and tips about college survival for students with children, managing college and work, transferring to a four-year college or university and various types of classroom accommodations. STEP will also give students the opportunity to speak with academic division representatives.
New students are welcome to attend this information session to learn about everything they need before starting classes at NOVA in fall 2017. To be eligible to attend this information session, students must take the English and math placement tests and bring their test results to this session. Faculty and staff will lead a number of workshops to assist students and answer questions about degree requirements, curriculum, financial aid and other services and resources NOVA provides its students.
Registration for this information session will begin at 5 p.m. the day of the event. Participants can also register for the session online. For additional information about STEP, contact Liaison for Specialized Degree Programs Dr. Joann Credle at 703-323-3205 or jcredle@nvcc.edu.
