O’Connell’s Sullivan Hosting Fundraiser at Pizzeria Orso

Bishop O’Connell High School junior Caroline Sullivan is participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s National Capital Area Chapter’s Student of the Year campaign. The six-week initiative sees nominated high school students participate in a competition to raise funds for cancer research. The student who raises the most money earns Student of the Year honors plus a $5,000 college scholarship.

Sullivan kicks off her campaign this Thursday, Jan.12 with a fundraiser at Falls Church’s Pizzeria Orso (400 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church) where 15 percent of the day’s sales will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Sullivan will appear with her cousin and campaign manager Lily Beres of J.E.B. Stuart High School at Orso from 3:30 – 9 p.m.

The Student of the Year campaign runs through Feb. 25. More information can be found at www.lls.org.
