The Falls Church Rotary Club volunteered on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Pete Petro Centennial Playground at the Goodwin Court Apartments in Falls Church.

Volunteers, which included Joe Scheibeler, project coordinator Doug Dreyer, club president Erica Brouillette, Dr. Joe Akkara and Kevin Zimmerman, replenished mulch at the playground and lowered monkey bars at the playground in order to make them more user friendly for children. The playground was Rotary’s 100th Anniversary gift to the community in honor of the late Pete Petro, who was a long term Falls Church Rotary member and Past District Governor.

Falls Church Rotary Club members also served Thanksgiving dinners at the Williston Community Center on Wednesday, Nov. 17. Each family took home a bag full of Thanksgiving side dishes.  The event was jointly sponsored by the Rotary club and the Veterans Pantry. For more information, visit FallsChurchRotaryClub.org.
