Former Falls Church City Vice Mayor David Snyder joined the local Boy Scouts from Troop 895 early on Friday, Nov. 11 at the scouts’ annual Veteran’s Day flag raising ceremony at Veteran’s Common.

Troop 895, which raises the flag at Veterans Common in early morning flag raising ceremonies every Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day, has adopted the local memorial which is located at the junction of Little Falls Street and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail.

In addition to the flag raising ceremonies, Troop 895 also maintains the site, trimming and clearing the bushes each year so that it can be kept as a memorial in recognition of all those who serve and in remembrance of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
