F.C. Native Receives Accolades at U. of St. Francis

Falls Church native Andrew Finein has recently received several accolades as he is finishing up his studies at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Finein was selected to be included in the 2016 Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges. His name was published in the book and he will walk with chords for it when he graduates.

On Saturday, Sept. 24 he was in inducted into the Alpha Delta Chi chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the honor society of the National Communication Association. In order to be invited to join, students need a 3.0 cumulative grade point average with a 3.25 in their communication courses and be in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class. Finein currently has a 3.6 cumulative grade point average and 3.8 in his communication courses.

Then, on Thursday, Oct. 13, he was announced as one of ten nominees from his university to be a Student Laureate of The Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Although he wasn’t chosen as the Student Laureate from his school, he had to display leadership and service in pursuit of the betterment of humanity and for overall excellence in the curricular and extracurricular activities in order to be nominated.
