Greater Falls Church Veteran’s Council Holds Annual Picnic

The Greater Falls Church Veteran’s Council is hosting its annual picnic at Cherry Hill Park on Sunday, October 9 starting at noon, with food served at 1 p.m. The event is free but donations are being accepted to cover the costs associated with two new bronze plaques that will be added to the wall in front of the Falls Church Veterans Memorial in honor the seven Falls Church heroes who lost their lives in recent years and help alleviate travel costs to enable family members to attend the remembrance to be held at 11 a.m. Veterans Day, November 11, at the Falls Church Veterans Memorial.

Local business owner Dave Crance and his partners of the Best Western Falls Church located at 6633 Arlington Boulevard is providing free rooms for family members and is co-hosting an Honor Banquet at the motel following the ceremony. Donations can be made at the picnic or mailed to the Greater Falls Church Veterans Council at PO Box 581, Falls Church VA 22040.
