Loving Hut is one of the largest vegan restaurants in the world, with locations on every continent except for Antarctica, though I’m not sure how they would pull that one off. The chain offers its vegan eats all over the United States, too, with locations on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, in the Northeast and in the South. With that said, there is only one Virginia iteration of Loving Hut and it’s in Falls Church (well, right outside the borders of Falls Church City in the Falls Church section of Fairfax County).

This spot has both raw and non-raw vegan options. So if you take a meat eater to the Falls Church location of Loving Hut who is leery of faux meat, they will have tasty options available to them, like the Lemongrass tofu and mixed vegetables ($8.50) or the Soba Noodles ($6.95). The lemongrass tofu and mixed vegetables is a sweet and salty treat that is guaranteed to make a meat eater rethink the stereotype of flavorless tofu.

But if your meat eater friend is open eating faux meat, there are tons of wonderful options on Loving Hut’s menu for them to try. These include the fried wontons ($4.95), which include fried soy protein in the filling and is an appetizer I get pretty much every time I go, and the claypot seafood ($8.95) and the club sandwich and side ($9.50). With these options and a several more, Loving Hut just might open your meat eater friend’s mind to a cruelty-free diet.
