UPDATE: All Clear Given After Suspicious Note Found

UPDATE at 11:34 a.m: The City of Falls Church police have cleared the building at 900 S. Washington Street after a suspicious note was discovered earlier this morning. The evacuation and sweep were conducted “out of an abundance of caution,” the City said in their latest press release on the incident. In the release, the police department thanked “the community for its patience through the evacuation and sweep.”

A building on S. Washington Street in the City of Falls Church has been evacuated after a suspicious note was found there Monday morning. Police responded to the call about a note at 900 S. Washington Street Monday, July 11 and evacuated the building “out of an abundance of caution,” a City press release reports.

The building is currently closed but police say neighboring buildings and houses do not need to be evacuated at this time.
