Former Harlem Globetrotter Comes to Falls Church

Spinny Johnson, a former Harlem Globetrotter, will visit Mary Riley Styles Public Library at 120 N. Virginia Avenue on Wednesday, July 13 from 7 – 8 p.m. Johnson, who performed with such basketball greats as Wilt Chamberlain, Curly Neal, Meadowlark Lemon and Marques Haynes, will put on an interactive program of basketball skills and tricks.

This program is recommended for children ages five and older. Along with performing for children in several states throughout country, Johnson has also worked in the classroom as a substitute teacher in Montgomery County.

Johnson’s program, which is called “On The Ball,” features his skills and tricks while teaching the importance of education, respect, goal setting, determination and perseverance. For more information, visit fallschurchva.gov/Library or spinnyjohnson.com.
