Study: F.C. ‘Great Place to Retire’

Retirement is an opportunity for meeting new people and experiencing new things, and according to a new study Falls Church is among the best places to do it in Virginia. SmartAsset ranked the cities with the most recreational and social opportunities for retirees as part of their study on the Best Places to Retire. The index factors in the number of recreation centers and retirement centers available to seniors as well as what percentage of the city’s population they represent.

Falls Church came in seventh after Bedford, Williamsburg, Woodstock, Abingdon, Marion and Wytheville. Ranking categories include doctors per 1,000 people, recreation centers per 1,000 people, retirement centers per 1,000 people and the percentage of the total population of senior age.
