Donations Being Collected for Residents Displaced by 3-Alarm Fire

The Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center announced in a press release yesterday that a member of their community was one of the 41 families that was displaced by a three-alarm fire on Sunday, June 12. Maria Rodriguez and her two-year-old daughter Sophia lost all their belongings when the fire spread through eight apartments in the complex in the 2800 block of Pine Spring Road and are seeking donations to provide relief for their losses and displacement.

Rodriguez and her daughter were away at the time and returned to find their apartment and several others uninhabitable and all their possessions destroyed. Maria and Sophia are part of the Falls Church-McLean Children’s Center community.

Although mother and daughter need to replace all their belongings, cash contributions are the most useful at this point. Checks can be sent to the Sophia Guzman-Rodriguez Emergency Account, Capital One Bank, 1439 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101. For more information, call 703-534-4907.
