Gallery Underground Hosts ‘View From Within’ in June

Gallery Underground, located at 2100 Crystal Dr., Arlington, is exhibiting View from Within,” a solo show by local painter Anna Schalk through Saturday, June 25. The exhibition, which had its opening reception in the venue’s Focus Gallery on Friday, June 3, explores the artist’s experience when interacting with another person.

“The complexity of each subject brings a challenge and an excitement that I want to celebrate with paint. Texture, color and shapes define my response to what I see and feel in our painting relationship,” Schalk said. “Sometimes those responses allow for abstraction and other times, not. However each work becomes my celebration of that Being, that life.”

In addition to the solo show, Gallery Underground’s Main Gallery will feature the work of contemporary realist painter Dennis Crayon, who is based in Washington, D.C., in addition to work of the members of the Arlington Artists Alliance.

Gallery Underground’s hours are 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday – Friday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit galleryunderground.org.
