F.C. Residents Earn Academic Honors Across the Nation

Falls Church residents recently earned academic honors from colleges, universities and other academic institutions across the nation.

Maxximus A. Murray, a ninth grader at Phillips Exeter Academy, earned High Honors for the 2016 winter term at the academy. Jacob Somer, a ninth grader at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania, was named a commended scholar during the winter term at the academy.

Michaela Culhane, a freshman at Gettysburg College and 2015 graduate of George Mason High School, was named to the dean’s list at the college, where students must have attained a scholarship rating of at least 3.6 to make the list. Kevin Schmidt was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines, at James Madison University.
