Raccoon Found Near East Falls Church Tested Positive for Rabies

A dead raccoon found near East Falls Church in Arlington on Monday, March 21 has tested positive for rabies, according to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. A representative of the animal control division of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington said that the raccoon was found by an animal control officer near Benjamin Banneker Park in the 1800 block of N. Underwood Street.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is seeking information about any people or pets who may have had physical exposure to a raccoon that has tested positive for rabies. Anyone who may have had contact or whose pets may have had contact with any raccoon in that vicinity can reach the Animal Welfare League of Arlington by call 703-931-9241.
