Marshall Academy Hosts Annual Hair Extravaganza

Marshall Academy’s Cosmetology Program will hosted its Annual Hair Extravaganza fundraiser on Friday, Jan. 8 at George C. Marshall High School. Students provided an array of services including: hair styles, straightening, curling, conditioning treatments, hand exfoliation and more.

Proceeds from this fundraising event support the cosmetology program’s annual field trip to attend the International Beauty Show and Conference in New York City. Marshall Academy’s cosmetology program teaches about the history of and opportunities in the cosmetology industry along with hair, nail, and skin care; how to put forth a professional image; cosmetology sciences; life skills; and the business aspects of managing or owning a salon. Students hear from industry professionals who serve as guest speakers, demonstrate the latest trends, and showcase new products.

The program culminates into industry certification by the Virginia Board of Cosmetology. For more information, call Vanessa Hinton at 703-714-5536 or vjhinton@fcps.edu.
