Material was stolen from Rushmark’s Harris Teeter construction project on West Broad Street last week, according to the latest City of Falls Church crime report. Police say a suspect or suspects forced entry into the construction site and stole raw materials.
In vandalism crime news, a 19-year-old man and 15-year-old boy were arrested for jumping on vehicles on West Broad Street and charged with destruction of property, a house and car were vandalized on S. Spring St., a car window was smashed on W. Broad and someone smashed a window and stole a purse from a car on E. Broad.

Driving Under the Influence, 100 block E. Jefferson St. On Aug. 31, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The driver, a female, 42, of Rockville, MD, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Blood or Breath Test.
Commercial Burglary, 301 W. Broad St. On Aug. 31, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry and stole raw materials from the construction site.
Larceny from Vehicle, 500 block W. Broad St. On Aug. 31, police received a report that change was stolen from an unsecure vehicle.
Drinking In Public, 312 Park Ave. (Cherry Hill Park) On Aug. 31, a male, 38, of Arlington, was arrested and released on summons for Drinking In Public.
Vandalism to Vehicle, 132 W. Broad St. (Vandalism to Vehicle) On Sep. 1, police responded to the location for a report of individuals jumping on vehicles. After an investigation, a male, 19, of Falls Church; and a 15 year-old male, of Falls Church, were arrested for two counts of Destruction of Property.
Shoplifting, 167 Hillwood Ave. (Virginia ABC Store) On Sep. 1, the victim business reported an alcoholic beverage was stolen from the store.
Vandalism to Property, 100 block S. Spring St. On Sep. 1, police received a report that a house and car was vandalized.
Public Drunkenness, 306 W. Broad St. (Lesly’s Restaurant) On Sep. 2, a male, 27, of Temple Hills, MD, was arrested for Public Drunkenness.
Assault, 800 block W. Broad St. On Sep. 5, police investigated an assault. An acquaintance assaulted the victim and received minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Petit Larceny, 600 block Laura Dr. On Sep. 5, police investigated a report of a stolen mailbox. As a result of the investigation, a male, 33, of Gainesville, was arrested for Petit Larceny.
Robbery, 336 S. Washington St. (Fast Auto Loans) On Sep. 5, an unknown male demanded cash from the victim business.

Larceny from Vehicle, 100 block E. Broad St. On Sep. 6, police received a report that an unknown suspect smashed a car window and stole a purse.
Trespass, 400 W. Broad St. (Exxon) On Sep. 6, a male, 47, of Falls Church, was arrested and released on summons for Trespassing.
