Fairfax Teen to Compete U.S. Open Tennis Championships

Natasha Subhash, a freshman at Falls Church High School, will be the youngest Indian-American girl to compete in the U.S. Open Championships this week in Flushing Meadows, NY. She recently achieved the wildcard to compete in a qualifying match at the tournament.

Subhash, according to the Tennis Recruitment Network, is ranked first in Virginia and the Middle Atlantic, as well as fifth in the nation, with an overall record of 74-19. She is ranked first in 14 and under, as well as 16 and under, according to her interview with American Bazaar.

Subhash must win her qualifying matches to play in the 1st round of the Women’s tournament, which begins Aug. 31.
