F.C. School Supply Drive Underway

The City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services Department announced this week that it is hosting a school supply drive for local middle and high school students in need. Donations of unused items are being collected until August 19 at the HHS office in City Hall, 300 Park Avenue, G Level, Room G04, during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The office will accept the following new (not used) items: gift cards (stores that sell school supplies), donations to the Falls Church Schools Family Assistance Program, backpacks, binders, binder/subject dividers, double-pocket folders, spiral notebooks, graph paper notebooks, loose-leaf paper, Post-It notes, pens, markers, highlighters (no crayons or pencils), pencil boxes, hand sanitizer, tissues.

It was noted that such school supplies qualify for the Virginia Department of Taxation Sales Tax Holiday on August 7-9.
